Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

How do I schedule an appointment? I offer both daytime and evening appointments. When scheduling an appointment, please let me know if there is a day and/or time of day that you prefer. Therapy appointments are usually available within 2 weeks. To schedule an appointment, you may call, email, or submit the contact form at the bottom of the bottom of the home page under Connect

Office Phone: 919-698-5475

Email: corrie.lcsw@gmail.com

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment? Please call and give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or change an appointment. In situations where you are unable to give 24 hour notice or if notice is not given, you may be charged for the session.

Do you accept health insurance for therapy services? Yes, I am in network with the Duke Student Insurance Plan, Aetna including the NC State Health Plan, and Blue Cross Blue Shield (except Blue Home plans). If you have insurance coverage with one of these companies that you would like to use, I will submit claims on your behalf to assist with insurance reimbursement.

What if you are out of network with my insurance? If I am out of network with your insurance company, it's important for you to check with your insurance, because you may have out of network benefits that will cover all or part of out of network services. Please contact your insurance provider and ask them:

  • Do you have out of network benefits for outpatient psychotherapy (CPT codes 90791 and 90837)? And if you do have benefits, how much do they cover?
  • Do you have a deductible, and if you do, what is your deductible and do out of network services apply to the deductible?
  • What is your out of pocket limit? (This is the maximum amount you pay for out of network services.)

What are your private pay rates (if I don't use insurance?)

  • Initial Evaluation Session ~ $175
  • 50 - 55 minute Individual Psychotherapy Session ~ $160
  • 30 minute Individual Psychotherapy Session ~ $75

What can I expect at the first session? If you haven't ever been in therapy before, you may be wondering what it will be like. It is important to me to create an open, non-judgemental environment in which people can discuss what ever is most important to them at any point in time. The first session is an opportunity for you to get an idea of how I work. In addition, I can begin to get to know you, and we can start to feel what the dynamic between us may be like. This helps to determine that we would be a good fit to work with one another. During the first meeting together, I am eager to hear what it is that brings you to start therapy. I can then discuss with you how I think I may be of help.

How long does therapy last? Sessions are usually once a week and last 50 minutes. The duration of therapeutic work is based entirely on individual needs.

For information not mentioned here, or other questions, you are welcome to call me and you can leave a confidential voicemail message at any time. I check my messages multiple times a day, and I am usually able to return calls within one business day.
